Usually weight loss supplements can take any form but in this article we would assume that the supplements come in the form of tablets.

There are a variety of weight loss supplements available out there that serve a variety of purposes. Some help you suppress appetite, others act as carb blockers or fat blockers. The most popular supplements are however those which help a person increase their metabolism. Just imagine the prospect of being able to burn those fat deposits and shed the extra pounds simply by sitting on your favorite couch and just popping a pill! Granted that the ephedra-free weight loss supplements contained caffeine, but caffeine was not even half as effective as ephedra. Also the reason why it managed to remain unchecked for a long time in the weight loss industry was that unlike other drugs, weight loss supplements are almost immune to the stringent rules of FDA.

The experts will tell you that the best and most natural weight loss supplements are the protein shakes and drinks. These shakes may or may not contain any appetite suppressing or metabolism enhancing components, but they can help you build strong muscles, which would automatically increase your metabolic rate. An increase in metabolic rate means that you will burn fat and lose weight pretty fast!

Another advantage of these protein shakes is that you can use them as a full meal; this way you would find it easier to keep track of the amount of calories you are consuming everyday!
